Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)

June 13th - July 22nd -2012

APPLICATION DEADLINE: APRIL 29th, 2012

The TEFL in South America program is a unique study abroad program in Ecuador, offered by Centers for Interamerican Studies, which certifies teachers to teach English as a Foreign or Second Language. CEDEI produces well-trained, culturally-aware teachers who contribute to the ideals of the global community.

Our TEFL Certificate courses are different from most. Learning how to teach English and learning how to teach it in a foreign culture are two very different things. CEDEI offers you the opportunity to earn your TEFL Certificate in an on-site language school where over 900 Ecuadorian students attend English classes every semester. Our approach takes into consideration the cultural context within which you learn to teach. We offer travel to sites of historical and cultural interest, the option to live with a local host family and cultural activities in the afternoon and on weekends.

TEFL students have the opportunity to teach English classes that are observed by peers and instructors.

"I feel excited for the future and career in teaching. This course has opened the door for me."
